HALLOWEEN COSTUME INSPO FROM UNIVERSAL STUDIOS JAPAN
I stopped this duo in their tracks because my daughter wanted a picture with them. I did without hesitation because I thought they worked there. Their costumes were so good!
I was super mortified when I saw the look on the other Joker's face and realised that oops, they were just regular park goers like us.
The Japanese are big on costumes and dressing up which made people watching during the Halloween celebrations at Universal Studios just as much part of the park's attractions as the actual attractions themselves.
So if you're looking for inspiration this Halloween, click more cause these I spotted some really good costumes there and some are easily DIY-able!
TWINNING FOR MAXIMUM IMPACT
Twinning outfits has been a thing in Japan for quite some time now but when you do it in costume, the effect is even more striking.
So striking that you can even forego an actual costume.
Just grab your BFF and put together coordinating odd outfits and you're all set for Halloween.OVERALL SAVIOR
I spotted a lot of park goers in overalls.
I think they're the easiest and quickest DIY costume to put together at the last minute.
To go as Mario and Luigi, grab a denim jumper and pair with a red hoodie or shirt + cap to go as Mario, make sure to have a Luigi by your side to make it look legit.
For a quick Minion look, pair with a yellow shirt or hoodie and DIY a yellow beanie with bug eyes and a few strands of hair at the top.
Or you can just buy a couple of simple "brand" dresses like these that can easily be found in Greenhills and other flea markets.
The key is to come in pairs or as a group!
WHERE'S WALDO
Easy and comfy. Just jeans, a striped shirt, glasses + beanie! If you can't find a striped beanie, just diy with some ribbon or scrap cloth.
THE SLUTTY VERSION TRADITION
A true classic.
If all else fails, be a zombie.
Grab some old clothes or drop by the nearest thrift store and buy something you don't mind ripping apart, best if it's a bit costumey like a suit/a lab robe, etc. Start shredding, step on it, add some grease pour fake blood on it. Grab a scary mask and dirty it, add blood etc for a more realistic look.
