I'm a sucker for out of the box silhouettes and that's probably the reason behind my new found love for gauchos.

Yes, they aren't particularly new but they also haven't caught on as much as the skinny jean. You're less likely to come across someone in gauchos than a Balenciaga bag at the mall.

And that's why I like it. It still feels fresh ---- in Manila at least.

Also, I think it's the best and most versatile choice for bottoms given our weather conditions.

Unlike mini skirts and short shorts, gauchos can double as office/meeting worthy wear and yet they provide even more comfort than a pair of denim shorts.

If you're petite like me, it's a good idea to pair it with like colors so as not to cut your height in two and make you appear shorter than you already are.

Pair with oxfords for a more business-like look or flat leather sandals for a casual, sunny take. To kick things up a notch, pair with high heels (pumps or strappy sandals) to fit right into any cocktail event or dinner.
