make it work in tapei (ootd)
I received my package from AstoGroup a day before I was leaving for Taiwan. In it was a top (see here), a dress and this oriental-ish, brocade/embroidered midi skirt.
The moment I took it out of the box, I gasped at how beautiful and well-made it was. I was determined to take it along with me and make it work even if I knew how much walking and running around we would be doing.
This skirt is worthy of a formal dinner but I paired it down to make it zoo appropriate. (hehe)
Taiwanese people are really stylish and non-judgmental anyway so I was like what they hey, when in Taiwan...
The gamble paid off, I made 3 new friends because of this skirt.
They hesitatingly approached me and asked in broken english where I got it! Nothing breaks ice like fashion. ;)
So I told them where and from there a conversation started. They asked for my website and we even exchanged email addresses so I can take them around when they visit Manila (I told them how beautiful our country is as well and that they should visit. hello, ambassadress. :P).
So anyway, here's how I dressed it down and made it appear more casual:

I also like interpreting it this way...seems more out of the box, but don't get me wrong, I still plan to style it in a more formal way for another occasion. And then again, and again, and again. It definitely is an investment piece. ;)
