eastpak artist studio 2013

I was at Vinyl On Vinyl at the collective yesterday to check out the Eastpak Artist Studio exhibit.

Eastpak is a heritage brand that has long been well-loved by underground peeps and alternative communities. It is for this reason that they decided to create the Eastpak Artist Studio which brings artists from around the world in a collaborative effort to design Eastpak's Padded Pak-r bags into masterpieces.

The proceeds of the project go to a charity organization called Designers Against AIDS. The past editions saw over 130 artists including graphic designers, product designers, DJs, and even chefs to design over 200 unique Eastpak backpacks.

Bratpak and Primer couldn't have chosen a more perfect place to hold the event. The Collective was very fitting for the creative vibe of the of teh show and its attendees. Super cool indeed.

Aside from being a charitable collaboration, Eastpak Artist Studio also brings a lot of exposure internationally for our local artists.

This year, five local artists were tapped by Eastpak and Bratpak Remix to promote creative freedom and social awareness.

First on the list is Apol Sta. Maria who comic books and art works. He is well loved in the scene for his uncanny pieces that invoke humor and curiosity in the mind of the observer.
