laura mercier summer 2013: folklore

I went to Las Flores a few days ago for the press launch of Laura Mercier's summer 2013 collection called Folklore. LM's global make-up artist Michelle Draper was also there to show us how to use the latest goodies from Laura.

I have been waiting with great anticipation for this day since I received the invitation with the mood photo on 

it. The make up on the model and everything else was just so perfect. Very summer boho.

Laura Mercier's inspiration for summer 2013 comes from the cultural influences of South and Central American civilizations. The colours are reminiscent of ancient symbols, artifacts, textiles and jewelries of the Aztecs. The result is an earthy summer palette. Imagine the spirit of earth and fire infused into an illuminating mosaic of colour.

The over-all look is bronzed and sun drenched, warmed by earthy shades. Eyes glow in earthy prisms of gold, copper and bronze lined with rich blues and greens accentuated with long, lush lashes. While lips are softly crayoned in tones of browns and pinks.
