Perricone Acyl-Glutathione + Common Glutathione Misconceptions

Instant Gratification.

When it comes to skincare and beauty, I think everyone will agree with me when I say that what we all want and have been searching for has indeed been instant gratification. Who doesn't want to improve their looks upon application of a miracle cream?

But this miracle cream...does it at all exist?

I tried to find out for myself during the press release of Perricone's Acyl-Glutathione at Romulo Cafe in Makati:

The launch was facilitated by Jane Meredith who is a highly renowned global skincare expert and has worked with numerous prestigious skincare companies and luxury department stores like Neimann Marcus, Sephora and Saks.

Before I start my discussion on Acyl-Glutathione, I need to straighten out some common misconceptions about Glutathione first.

First and probably the most shocking of all, Glutathione has never been proven to whiten skin. I have attended numerous skin care press events, among them include some of the top brands in the industry such as Murad, Kose and the like, at all these events, the question of Gluthatione always comes up and we always get the same answer from these global experts, quite frankly they are surprised at the abundance of skincare products in the Philippines boasting Glutathione as a whitening agent. (this kinda made sense to me, skin whitening is big business, if it really was that easy then why haven't these giant brands jumped onto the bandwagon as well?)

Glutathione is already present in our body, in fact it is found in every cell.  It is foremost an antioxidant, an immunity booster and a detoxifier.

So now that we have that bit settled, let's get on with Perricone. Dr. Perricone believes in beauty emanating from the inside out. He believes that health problems are manifested in the form of wrinkles. So to be truly beautiful, we must be careful with what we eat as well as what we apply on our skin.

Sad to say, the best diet for beautiful skin is to go on an anti-inflammatory, low glycemic diet. Bye bye cupcakes, donuts and kisses. Sugar grabs collagen and elastin thus creating a rapid increase in skin aging for those with a high sugar diet.

Since I mentioned that Glutathione doesn't whiten skin, what exactly does it do?

Glutathione brightens the skin. Since it is an antioxidant, it promotes youthfulness in our skin.

As we age, the amount of Glutathione in our body rapidly declines therefore the need for a proper supplement that truly works is required if we want to look the best for our age.

Here is what I noticed after a few seconds of applying Acyl-Glutathione on the wrinkles of my hand:

Notice the immediate decrease in fine lines? My skin got plumper too (a sign of youth)

To further demostrate this "wonder cream", Jane asked a member of the press to volunteer for some product application.

The effects are a lot more obvious when seen in person. You will notice that her pores are less visible and her skin appears tighter, smoother and more radiant.

Wait!!! I know what you're thinking...Before you rush to the nearest drugstore/grocery to grab the first whatever Glutathione product you can get your hands on, I need to burst your bubble.

For Glutathione to properly work and get activated, it needs to be combined with the right ingredients. Just because you slap it onto your skin doesn't mean it's gonna work miracles. Go on test my theory. It's sort of like match stick and the box. The match stick is vurtually useless unless you scratch it on the hard surface found on the box. Same with Glutathione.

Perricone's Glutathione is combined with Acyl making it both water and oil soluble, which means your body will be able to make use and absorb every single ounce of it.

It truly is a miracle cream, smells good too. The scent is very light and fades after awhile.
